Just wanted to pass along some help for those of you that are having problems getting this thing to work... The instructions that came with mine shows that the batteries should be installed with both positive contacts facing up. This is incorrect. One should be positive-up, the other negative-up. With the batteries in this position, turn the dial to any "on" position, then start twisting the battery cover on. When the device starts buzzing, stop twisting; it's ready to use. It took me a little trial-and-error, and I hope this review saves some other people time. It seems like a sturdy product, just a tad temperamental.
